Man, time is flying by. I feel like every time I blink, another week goes by. Before I know it, I’ll be home for Christmas. Just at 5 weeks. Crazy! I think it’s a good thing though. It’ll be a good break…I mean, I do miss some things from the states. I think my top three are: Dr. Pepper, Chik-fil-a, and some darn good Mexican food. That is of course on top of my friends and family☺
This week at the Joshua Project was great. The Lord is really building great relationships with the boys. They are out of control, but I love them. Right now we are using Mondays as a time to just hang out with the kids to build better relationships with them before we start doing children’s programs next semester. This Monday we were planning on taking them to the beach , but there was some crazy wind so we decided to stay in and make beaded necklaces with the kids. It was a big hit! They loved it and did a great job of being creative. Some of them kept them on for Tuesday too. It was cute! I think one of my favorite things to do with them is getting to walk them home after the activities. They love it. You get to meet their families, but also show them that you care about them and their safety. On Tuesday when we went to walk them home, four of the boys thought it would be funny to try and tackle me to the ground on the side of the road. Two of them went after my legs, and the other two went after my back. Luckily, their attempts failed. Instead I walked a ways with four boys hanging on me. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
The clinic is still amazing. They are still letting me help organize and count pills in the pharmacy. They want me to start doing more, but I don’t really feel comfortable with that! Lol. I don’t think I want to be responsible for that! I just really love the nurses there. They are so awesome, but incredibly overworked. Its great just being able to speak life into them and hopefully brighten their day just a little bit.
In two weeks, I get to go on vacation. We get the weekend off after Thanksgiving to travel. A small group of us are heading to Plettenburg Bay, and we will be staying in a hostel. I’m pretty excited to get to see another town but also just relax and enjoy the rest.
Just keep praying that the Lord will continue to show us favor among the people here in Jeffreys. God has such big plans for this place. Pray for the harvesters here. Sometimes it feels as if you are turning dirt in huge field with just a teaspoon wish that God would bring the plow. But He will. In HIS timing. Also, pray for my health. I am sick AGAIN. Hopefully this will be it. I am pumping vitamin C in my system like its my job!! Thanks for all your support. It means more than you know. Love you all.
