This week has been amazing.  I couldn’t have asked for a better week.  God has been moving, that’s for sure!

This past week AIM flew in a couple of speakers to do a leadership seminar here for all of the Africa FYMs.  I have to be honest, at first I wasn’t too sure about it, but it has been awesome for me.  God pushed me in not only what I thought a good leader should be and look like, but also how he wants to push me in my leadership skills and give me more confidence in the skills that I already have.  Its just been really nice to be poured into and just be able to allow my soul feast on some more stuff.

The Clinic has rocked my world this week.  It was an absolute blast and I can just see God using my teammates and I just a little bit at a time.  We were able to talk to a lot of patients this week and just hang out with them and hear their story and what they are all about.  We also got to hold a TON of adorable babies.  It is not fair how cute they are!  One of my favorite things that happened this week was that I made a new friend there! Her name is Andiwe (that’s probably not how you spell it, but you get the point!).  She’s nineteen, still in high school, and probably one of the most beautiful girls ever.  She’s like six foot two with gorgeous eyes.  Anyways, I saw her come into the clinic two days in a row, so I thought I would start talking to her and see what she’s all about.  Turns out she has TB and has to come pretty much every day to get a shot.  She has to sit at the clinic and wait. Every single day.  She is at the mercy of the nurses, and usually the TB patients are disregarded until they can get around to them.  So we had a ton of time to talk.  I enjoyed every minute of it.  She told me about her family, what she loves about school, what her dreams are. It was a lot of good stuff.  So, I’m looking forward to keeping her company on days to come! I can’t wait!

My second favorite moment this week at the clinic was hand delivering Christmas bags to all the nurses.  It was perfect.  They all loved them SO much.  Nurses that I’ve never seen smile, actually cracked some smiles and took pictures with us.  It was just incredible to be able to do something really small and easy to bring a smile and continue to break down the walls.   I’m really sad that I won’t get to be there again until January, but I know God has begun work and will continue it.  It’s not complete yet.

Tomorrow we are all leaving to go out of town for four days on debrief! I can’t believe it’s here already!  It has flown by.  We are going about three hours away to process things we’ve experienced this semester as well as set some goals for next semester.  We also get to have some fun and down time.  I’m pretty excited.  But yeah, that’s about it for now.  I hope you are enjoy the holiday season!  Thanks for all your prayers and support!! Its amazing!!!

P.S.  I come home in 8 days! YAY!
