Well, I think that this is going to be my final blog from Africa for this semester. I can’t believe that this semester is already over. Time has flown by, and I can’t believe all that has gone on in just three months. The past four days we have been on debrief. We went about three hours west of here to a place called Victoria Bay. It was absolutely beautiful. Driving there brought back some great memories of driving the PCH highway in California. I think each place I go here I am in utter shock of how beautiful this country is. It’s beyond what I ever imagined.
Debrief was exactly what I needed. We stayed in a beautiful that allowed us to spend a lot of time with ourselves to not only begin to process what we have experience and learned over the past few months but also what we strive to be and do next semester. I am amazed to look back and see how God has begun to take my heart and shape into something totally different. He has begun to heal my heart of things that I personally hadn’t ever let go of, and for the first time a while I am allowing go to fill my heart up and make me whole. Its nice. I still have a lot to process over Christmas, and I’m really looking forward to having some down time to just let stuff soak in.
On top of the free time alone to just hang out and process, my favorite thing we did was go to an ostrich farm. I know, interesting right? But there we got to hold eggs, baby ostriches, feed them, stand on their eggs, and oh yeah, RIDE THEM. Seriously, how cool is that? It was hilarious. One of the funniest things I have ever done! It was crazy. I think that I get some extra missionary points for that one:)
Until I get on my flight on Friday, I have the next couple of days to help out around here and also say good bye to some of the people here. I think we are even planning on going Christmas caroling at the Clinic on Thursday. I’m pretty pumped. Thank you to all of you for all your support. I would not have been able to experience any of this without your generosity. Thank you for making it such an amazing semester. I love you all. Talk to you soon. And lets catch up while I’m in the States!
